The Pekin girls track team took the Class B title of the West Burlington meet Tuesday with a score of 146, edging Danville by 4 points. They had wins from Maddie Black the 800 (2:44.79), the 4 by 200 of Mackenzie Dahlstrom, Hunter Lock, Chilynn Sevier and Sophie Wittrock (2:01.91), the 4 by 400 featuring Sarah Eubanks, Hollie Loper, Zoey Wright and Remi Duwa (4:34.06) plus 4 by 800 with Emily Laumeyer, Black, R. Duwa and Loper (10:50.72). Panther 2nds included Emi Zook the discus (111), Katie Jones the shot put (34-5), Ellie Ledger the high jump (4-8), Gracie Baetsle the 100 meter hurdles (18.81), Eubanks the 400 (1:06.24), the 800 meter medley made up by Wittrock, Sevier, Wright and Eubanks (2:01.92) along with the 1600 meter medley that featured Wittrock, Lock, Cari Duwa and R. Duwa (4:53.32).
Fairfield was in Class A at West Burlington Tuesday. The Trojans 1600 meter medley (pictured below) was 1st featuring Jill Dunlap, Alexis Jones, Anna Dunlap and Ashley Bloomquist (4:36.96). Finishing 2nd were Bloomquist the 3000 (11:31.44), the 4 by 200 of Malory Jones, Sophie Wallerich, Danielle Breen and Hannah Lyons (2:00.65) along with the 800 meter medley made up by J. Dunlap, Olivia Jones, Carly Ferrel and Mallory Lyon (2:03.89). They had 3rds from Olivia Roberts the shot put (32-6) and the shuttle hurdle relay including Brynley Allison, Hannah Bergren, Ferrel and M. Jones (1:20.19). Fairfield ended up 4th of 6 overall totaling 70 and a half points. Mount Pleasant won the competition with 171. West Burlington Notre Dame was 2nd at 124 and a half while 3rd place Washington scored 82.
