Outdoor Season Underway For Pekin Track Teams

Pekin went to Albia for coed outdoor track and field competition Thursday. Winning for the boys were Cole Earnest the 400 meter hurdles (1:02.03), Dayne Eckley the 100 (11.14), Brady Millikin the 1600 (4:55.71), Colten Glosser the 3200 (10:45.05), the 800 meter medley made up by Lathe Crochet, Michael Jones, Brady Latcham and Eckley (1:45.25), the 4 by 800 of Chandler Stull, Zack Wise, Tanner Conger and Millikin (9:55.63), the 1600 meter medley that featured Kevin Rohr, Quinn Ledger, Conger and Millikin (4:15.17) and shuttle hurdle relay with Devin Fraise, Crochet, Earnest and Ledger (1:07.21).

Panther girls taking first included Lauren Derscheid the 1500 (5:51.21) and 3000 (12:24.36), Sarah Eubanks the 400 (1:06.68), Ellie Ledger the high jump (5-1), Kaitlyn Jones the shot put (34-8 and 1/4), Gracie Baetsle the 400 meter hurdles (1:23.47), Eme Zook the discus (90-2), Maddie Black the 800 (2:47.77), the 4 by 800 of Hollie Loper, Remi Duwa, Emily Laumeyer and Black (11:10.75), the 1600 meter medley made up by Sophie Wittrock, Hunter Lock, Cari Duwa and R. Duwa (4:56.66), the 800 meter sprint medley that featured Zoey Wright, Wittrock, Lock and Eubanks (2:05.68) and the 4 by 400 with Eubanks, Loper, Wright and R. Duwa (4:35.89).
