Jackson Weaton Has Top Performance For Ottumwa In Boys State Swimming

The boys state swim meet took place at the University of Iowa Saturday. Fairfield High School senior Jackson Weaton (front of picture wearing the letter jacket) competed with the Ottumwa team and shared 9th of 24 in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.14. Sophomore Kevin Kretz, another FHS athlete finished 13th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.77.

The Bulldogs 200 medley relay was 15th of 24 featuring Kretz, Spencer Ehrenhard and Cameron Keck clocked at 1:39.89. Kretz added a 21.97 second 20th place time in the 50 freestyle. Their 200 free relay that had the same foursome was disqualified. Ottumwa ended up in a 24th place tie with Muscatine, each totaling 16 points. Ankeny won the championship scoring 226.
