The Fairfield High School girls basketball awards were announced last night. Pictured with this story from left are Nicole Buch, Ashtyn Drish, Shay Drish, Ashley Bloomquist, Malory Jones and Kara Jeffrey. Buch was the Most Valuable Player and a captain. The senior ended up the 5 player girls career scoring leader for the Trojans and also set school records for most assists, made 3 point field goals and steals in a career plus set a new 3 pointer single season mark. Buch also was voted the Southeast Conference girls basketball Player of the Year each of the last 3 seasons.
The other senior A. Drish was also a captain. Jeffrey, a junior received one rebounding honor as the team leader with 133. Junior Bloomquist got the other rebounding award with the 2nd best total of 111. Junior Jones was selected as the Most Improved player. Sophomore S. Drish got the Rookie of the Year honor. Buch and S. Drish both made the All-Region team for the post season. The varsity players had a cumulative grade point average of 3.75.
