UPDATE: Woman Killed, Six Hurt In Van Buren County Crash

The Iowa State Patrol has identified the woman killed in Friday auto accident as 26 year old Mindy Rae Johnson, of Burlington. The 36 year old passenger injured in the crash has been identified as April Irene Maul, also of Burlington. The children have yet to be identified.

A woman was killed and six others hurt, including five children in a Friday afternoon auto accident in Van Buren County. According to an Iowa State Patrol Crash Report, a 26 year old female was driving a 2005 Mercury Mariner eastbound on Highway 2 south of 265th Road at approximately 2:30pm when she lost control of the vehicle and rolled into a cornfield, landing on its wheels. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult passenger, three eight year old children along with a five year old and a three year old were injured, Two of the eight year olds and the 36 year old passenger were taken to University of Iowa Hospital. The third eight year old, the five year old and the three year old were transported to Van Buren County Hospital. The Iowa State Patrol reports that none of the vehicles occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The victims have yet to be identified. The accident remains under investigation.
