FEDA Relocates Downtown

Earlier this week, Fairfield Economic Development Association [FEDA] relocated their offices to 101 North Court Street, located within Iowa State Bank’s downtown building. Prior, FEDA’s offices were located on South 23rd Street in the FEDA led Business and Industrial Park.

“About a year and half ago, FEDA set sight on relocating our offices to a more central location” said FEDA Executive Director, Joshua Laraby. “When we began searching for a new location earlier this year, what we found was that available space in the downtown was limited, interestingly, this is good news. It’s an indicator of the strength and vitality of the local economy.” FEDA’s focus on relocating to a more central location was driven by a goal the organization set for their offices to become more visible and more accessible.

This year, Iowa State Bank consolidated their retail banking services to their Burlington Avenue location, which led to some available space at the bank’s 101 North Court Street location. FEDA and Iowa State Bank began conversations and realized there was a great opportunity for FEDA’s offices to be located inside the Court Street building. FEDA and Iowa State Bank soon arranged for the buildout of an office space and planned for the relocation to take place in early July.

Aaron Kness, President and CEO of Iowa State Bank, stated, “At Iowa State Bank, we understand the vital roles community banks and economic development associations both play in the local economy. We are very excited to welcome an impactful, like-minded organization to our downtown location. We continue to view our Court Street location as an important professional ‘hub’. In addition to FEDA and the bank’s administration and operations staff, the location is home to Ameriprise Financial Services.”

Laraby said, “We are already enjoying the benefits of being downtown. The new location has immediately increased our visibility and accessibility. We want to thank Iowa State Bank for providing us this opportunity and we also want to thank Agri Industrial Plastics Company who donated some beautiful executive office furniture to FEDA for the new location. Both Iowa State Bank and Agri Industrial Plastics are supporting members of FEDA.”

Fairfield Economic Development Association encourages the community to stop by and visit their new location.
