Ottumwa Man Faces Life Without Parole

35 year old Armando Leyva, of Ottumwa, is in custody, after Ottumwa Police arrested him Friday charging him with kidnapping, 2nd degree sexual abuse, 3 counts of 3rd degree sexual abuse and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. Police allege Leyva attacked three women over the last several weeks, holding one captive in his apartment. 
If convicted, Leyva faces a prison term of up to 25 years on the 2nd degree sexual abuse charge, up to 10 years on each of the 3rd degree sexual abuse charges and a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole on the kidnapping charge. He has entered pleas of not guilty on all charges and remains in the Wapello County jail on a $157,000 cash only bond.
