(4/29) Noah's Ark Vaccination Clinic

Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation is hosting a low-cost Microchip and Vaccination Clinic on Saturday, April 29th from 11:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.  The clinic will be held at the Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation, 1986 Gear Avenue in Fairfield.  No appointment is necessary.

This clinic is open to the public; offering micro-chipping by a licensed veterinarian for $25, which includes

(5/5) FAA Announces New Exhibit

The Fairfield Art Association announces the opening of a new exhibit titled "An Iowa View" by artist Deb Baughman on Friday, May 5 in the Main Gallery at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. A reception for the artist will be held from 6 - 8 PM where attendees can meet and visit with the artist.

Fairfield’s own playwright and actor, Andrew Edlin returns to the Sondheim Center to reprise his tour de force one man show as the charismatic statesman, orator and wit Sir Winston CHURCHILL, Friday, May 5th at 7:30 p.m.

(5/7) Drakesville Old Time Country Music Festival

BMAI will host a music festival and camping weekend at the Drakesville City Park on May 4, 5, & 6, 2017. There will food and concessions on the grounds, as well as craft and merchandise vendors. There is no admission cost for the festival but donations will be collected throughout the weekend.

Music will be starting on Thursday May 4th with Stump the Band following an open stage beginning at 7pm.  Stages shows will start again at 7pm on Friday evening. Saturday Shows will be from 1-5 pm and again starting at 7pm for the evening. Bands will sign up for time slots. There will also be jam sessions during the week prior to and in addition to the stage performances. Everyone is welcome. This is a family, friendly event!!

Camping with limited electricity is available for $10 per night. No campers before April 31st. Camp spots are on a first come-first serve basis.

BMAI hosts several events each year throughout the state and is a 501c (3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting, promoting, educating, and preserving the appreciation and enhancement of traditional bluegrass music in the State of Iowa.

The Packwood Lions will host a Pancake, French Toast and Sausage Breakfast Saturday May 13th at the Packwood Community Center. A free will offering will be accepted with proceeds going to the Pekin School Scholarship Program. Breakfast will be served from 7-9 and will include pancakes, French toast, sausage, coffee and juice.

The American Legion Auxiliary #47 has recently learned that they must wait until  2018 to get The Wall That Heals to Fairfield, as all  dates in 2017 are committed.  The Auxiliary must wait until May 29th to even apply for getting The Wall to Fairfield in 2018.
    Donations are still needed to reach the $7,500 required to bring The Wall to Fairfield, but

(6/25) Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties Raffle

The Arc of Jefferson & nearby Counties is kicking off one of their 2017 fundraisers with two raffle packages generously donated by casinos, and southeast Iowa area clubs and businesses.  Proceeds from the raffles will go toward camperships to Camp Courageous for area individuals who are intellectually or otherwise developmentally challenged.
