Kicking off Libertyville’s 175th anniversary with a Soup Supper and “White Elephant” Bingo on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Libertyville Fire Station. Homemade soups starting at 5:00pm  with a free will offering.  A fun White Elephant Bingo will start at 7:00. Bring a white elephant prize and get a free bingo card; additional cards $.50 each. Shari’s Starz Dance Studio will host a Daddy/Daughter Dance for pre-school through 6th grade Saturday February 25th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Word of Life Church.

Cost is $10 per couple, plus $5 per additional daughter if registered before February 18.

 After 2/18: $20 per couple plus $5 per additional daughter.

(2/25) Living Hope Bible Church Preschool Soup Luncheon/Auction


Living Hope Bible Church Preschool will be holding their annual Soup Luncheon on Saturday, February 25 starting at 11 am. There will be several kinds of soups, salads and desserts to enjoy. The Auction will begin at 12:30 pm and will include homemade quilts, other homemade items, University of Iowa and Iowa State items, and other items donated by local businesses, church members and citizens in

The Birmingham Lions will host a Soup Supper on February 25th at the Birmingham Lions Building.  Serving will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  The menu consists of Vegetable beef soup, potato soup, chili soup and oyster soup plus relish dish, drinks, and various desserts.  The cost of the meal is $5.00.  Proceeds will be used to help pay utility bills.

(3/6) ISU Extension Food Preservation 101


A Food Preservation 101 class will be offered on March 8, 2017 from 2:00-3:30 pm at the Jefferson County Extension Office, 2606 West Burlington Ave., Fairfield.
 
The workshop, taught by ISU Extension and Outreach specialist, Sara Sprouse, is intended for those wanting to learn how to safely preserve food.  It will also serve as a refresher for those who have experience preserving food. 
 
There is no cost for this workshop, however, it is requested to please register by March 3rd by calling the Extension Office at (641)472-4166 so there are enough materials available.
